Attack Covid in your home!

We are in a very trying time with so many normal obstacles in life. We are now fighting a virus on a scale unheard of in the last century. To fight, we have been taught ways to defend ourselves. These defenses range from wearing masks, social distancing, and changing the way we do things to avoid contact with someone possibly carrying the virus.

What if there was a way to go on offense? There is!

When it comes to your home, there are multiple things you can do to not just protect you from the virus, but now you kill it! Let's go through a few options at your disposal that you can have installed in your HVAC system to help combat the coronavirus.

First, have your system maintained and cleaned by a pro. This sounds simple, but at bare minimum, having the coils cleaned can help stop the chance of creating an environment where air contaminants in the air can grow. This can also include having your ducts professionally cleaned and treated with a antimicrobial treatment.

Second, we will touch on filters. No I'm not talking about the cheap filter you don't replace

as often as you should that's in your hallway. I'm talking about whole house home filters capable of having a MERV rating good enough that viruses can make it through the system without being caught in the filter. Check out some more information on whole house home filters by clicking here.

Next, let's discuss UV air cleaners and lights that can be installed in the HVAC system.

According to the FDA, "UVC radiation is a known disinfectant for air, water, and nonporous surfaces." and "UVC radiation has been shown to destroy the outer protein coating of the SARS-Coronavirus". There isn't enough evidence that UVC lights 100% kill the current SARS-CoV-2 virus which is the virus that causes the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). "In addition to understanding whether UVC radiation is effective at inactivating a particular virus, there are also limitations to how effective UVC radiation can be at inactivating viruses, generally." Finally, let's get to the bad boys. If you were in a bar fight and you had the toughest guy you can think of have your back, ionizers would be that guy when fighting the coronavirus. Ionizers keep allergens, mold, bacteria, viruses, and VOCs out your of your home or office. They effectively destroys contaminants by as much as 99%. I have one in my home, and most hospitals have been using them for years. The following are some options you can choose from:
